These are the steps behind the Support address row in Settings › Email for each provider. Boom pre-selects the provider from your address’s domain when it can tell, and you can change it. Your mailbox keeps every email as it does today; your provider sends a copy to your Boom address. Before you start, open Settings › Email, click Connect on the Support address row, and save the address your customers write to. Then copy your Boom address (it’s in the row under the steps, and under Advanced settings), for example acme-k7q2x9@reply.useboom.ai. The row shows a short version of these steps for the selected provider. This page has them in full.
Boom’s daily check confirms the setup works: the status changes to Receiving once a copy has actually reached Boom.

Gmail

For an @gmail.com address. No admin needed.
  1. In Gmail, open Settings → See all settings → Forwarding and POP/IMAP and click Add a forwarding address.
  2. Paste your Boom address and click Next. Gmail sends a confirmation email to Boom, and the link shows up right in the Support address row: it reads Waiting for Gmail’s confirmation… until it arrives, then Open confirmation link. Only an organization admin sees the link.
  3. Open the confirmation link. Leave Forward a copy of incoming mail off if you only want some emails in Boom.
  4. Create a filter for the emails you want (search options → Create filter). Tick Forward it to your Boom address and Never send it to Spam.
Gmail doesn’t forward email it put in Spam, which is why “Never send it to Spam” matters.

Google Workspace

For your own domain on Google, like hola@yourcompany.com.
A Google Workspace admin has to do this.
  1. In the Google Admin console, open Apps → Google Workspace → Gmail → Routing.
  2. Add a rule for inbound email whose envelope recipient is your support address.
  3. Under Also deliver to, add your Boom address and save.
No confirmation link is needed. Would rather send a copy from one Gmail inbox? Use the Gmail steps; your admin may need to allow automatic forwarding (Gmail → End User Access).

Microsoft 365

For Outlook or Office 365 with your own domain.
A Microsoft 365 admin has to do this.
  1. In the Exchange admin center, open Mail flow → Rules and add a rule.
  2. Apply it when the recipient is your support address.
  3. Choose Add recipients → to the Bcc box, enter your Boom address and save.
Use a mail flow rule, as above. Microsoft 365 blocks automatic forwarding to outside addresses by default, so forwarding from a mailbox or an Outlook rule only works if your admin allows it in the outbound spam policy (Microsoft Defender → Anti-spam policies). Without that change, forwarded email bounces. That policy is about mailbox forwarding and Outlook rules, which is why these steps use a mail flow rule.

After any of these

Then click Send test on the Support address row. Boom sends its check email, titled Boom forwarding check, to your support address and shows the result within 90 seconds: Received · connected, or Didn’t arrive yet. Check: with what to check. A new Workspace routing rule or Microsoft 365 mail flow rule can take up to an hour to start working; Boom keeps checking and the status changes on its own. You can send one test a minute. Boom also sends that check email once a day. If you use a filter or rule, make sure it also matches that email. The status changes to Receiving when one comes through. Someone else has to do it? Send to IT, next to Send test (it reads Needs an admin · send to IT for Google Workspace and Microsoft 365), gives you these steps as plain text to copy or email.
