# Home and attributed revenue

> What Boom did for your whole company, and exactly how a sale is counted.

**Home** is the first screen of your workspace. It shows what Boom did across
every campaign, initiative and inbound conversation at once: the revenue it
earned, the customers it reached, how much of the work the AI handled, and what
your customers talk about. **Attributed revenue** is the page behind the revenue
number: the rule, every credited order, and which initiative earned it.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Home is turned on per workspace. The numbers refresh every hour, and Home
> says when they last did.

## What Home shows

| Part | What it is |
| - | - |
| **Period** | The last 7, 30 or 90 days, this month, last month, or the last 12 months, in your workspace's time zone. Rolling periods are whole days ending yesterday; every number is compared with the period just before it. |
| **Conversations today** | Conversations started today in which the customer wrote. |
| **Metrics** | With sales: attributed revenue, attributed orders, conversations, and people reached. Without sales (research and support workspaces): people contacted, reply rate, completed conversations, and conversations. Open one for its daily line next to the previous period's. |
| **AI work** | Of the conversations where a customer wrote and got an answer, the share the AI handled without your team; plus messages sent by the AI, by your team and as templates, conversations no one answered, and conversations escalated to your team. |
| **What your customers say** | Each conversation's sentiment (positive, neutral, negative), the themes customers raised most, and a few of their own words under each (see [Customer themes](#customer-themes)). |

A workspace with sales in more than one currency leads with the one with the
most sales and lists the others beside it. Boom never converts between
currencies.

## Customer themes

Each initiative's [extraction](https://docs.useboom.ai/extraction.md) names topics and problems in its
own words, so the same complaint can appear under several labels. Every night
Boom groups the labels it hasn't seen before into a few themes for your whole
workspace, and Home counts each conversation once per theme. Only the labels
are sent to the model, never the conversations.

Admins can change the grouping from **What your customers say → Edit themes**:
move a label to another theme, leave it under its own name, or create, rename
and delete themes. Boom never undoes a change you made. A rename shows at once;
a move or a delete shows on Home a few minutes after you finish editing.

**Quotes.** Under each theme, Home shows up to three things customers said in
the period's conversations. Phone numbers, emails and long numbers (cards,
accounts, IDs) are hidden. Quotes are read from the conversation each time,
never copied, so deleting a conversation removes its quotes too. Only people
who can read conversations see them, and an admin can turn them off for the
whole workspace in **Edit themes**.

## How a sale is attributed

One rule, applied the same way to every workspace:

1. **Each sale counts once.** The sum by initiative always equals the total.
2. **The last Boom message before the purchase takes it.** A message that was
   sent (not one that failed), from a campaign, an initiative, or an inbound
   conversation that the AI or your team answered. In a campaign or an
   initiative, a template counts even if the customer never replied.
3. **Only inside the window.** From the first message of a conversation until
   48 hours (or the window you set) after its last step.
4. **Post-purchase flows don't take credit, when Boom can tell what they
   are.** Under **Automatic**, an initiative is left out when it is
   transactional, a survey, or a journey started by an order event (confirmed,
   shipped, delivered, refunded) or by the sale itself. A post-purchase flow
   started any other way, for example from a segment of recent buyers, still
   earns credit until you set it to **Never**.

**What a sale is** comes from your workspace's main conversion: a CDP
[event](https://docs.useboom.ai/events.md) such as a completed checkout, or a CDP object such as an
order, with its amount and any conditions a sale must meet (for example, not
cancelled or refunded). Workspaces that connect a Shopify store start with a
conversion already set: completed checkouts, valued from the order, leaving out
cancelled orders, unpaid or refunded orders, and automatic subscription
renewals (a renewal that followed a failed charge still counts).

## Attributed revenue

The page lists:

* the total, the number of orders, and the share of all your sales Boom earned;
* the rule above, with your window;
* every initiative, whether it earns sales credit, and why (**Automatic**
  decides from what the initiative is; **Always** and **Never** override it).
  **See impact** shows what a change would do over the last 30 days before you
  make it;
* revenue by initiative;
* every credited order: when, the customer (first name and last initial only),
  the amount, the initiative that earned it, how long before the purchase
  Boom's message went and who wrote it, and the other initiatives that were in
  touch.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Customer names follow your [sensitive fields](https://docs.useboom.ai/hide-sensitive-data.md). For
> people who can't see sensitive data, a sensitive first name hides the name
> entirely, and a sensitive last name drops the initial.

An initiative's own analytics page reads these same credits for a success
metric on your sale, so for the same environment and period it adds up the
same revenue; see [Sales metrics read Home](https://docs.useboom.ai/analytics.md#sales-metrics-read-home).

## Changing what counts as a sale

Admins can edit the main conversion from **Attributed revenue → Edit
conversion**. Every change previews its effect over the last 30 days before you
save it. Then choose:

* **Apply from today**: new sales follow the new definition; past sales keep
  the one they were counted under.
* **Recalculate history**: every sale of the last year is counted again under
  the new definition. Home updates when the recalculation finishes.

Changing an initiative's sales credit counts the last year's sales again under
the current definition (sales from before it keep the definition they were
counted under). Home updates when that finishes.
